Unique Trapunto Masterpiece

Birds, Flowers And Butterflies

A Lancaster County Quilt Creations, Limited Edition Museum Quality Antique Reproduction

Breathtaking in its beauty and originality.

This Unique quilt has a wonderful and playful center medallion that has a unique woven basket of flowers, with birds and butterflies flying around this vase.    This center medallion is framed with two double plumes of feathers.   Some small flowers that are just beautiful frame this center motif creating an additional framing that is just outstanding. A name adorns this framing "Mary Lyons, Dublin, Ohio”.  A wreath surrounds this frame, and this central motif is framed by some small feather design Trapunto work bringing order to this wonderful quilt. Finally a winding double intertwining feather surrounds the entire quilt making a One of a kind, example to be cherished for generations.

This quilt is made by Lancaster county quilt creations, and is one of our limited edition museum quality antique reproductions.    We let our customer choose the name that was added to this quilt as it commemorated one of the ancestors in their line of genealogy, Mary Lyons.  After selling this quilt to our longtime customer, who has unfortunately passed away, we bought this beauty back from the estate, so I offered this one of a kind quilt in a no reserve Dutch auction.

The approximate size of the quilt is 84 x 82.

As for the quilting, it is very close and beautiful, all Trapunto items are extravagantly quilted and the whole background is covered in approximately 1/2-inch furrows to keep all the cotton batting and layers in perfect order.  The fineness of the quilting shows in the photos, and is very good quality. The quilt is in near perfect condition with No stains, spots, tears or seam flaws that I could find. The only problems of any kind that I see are a few places where the stuffing materials came through during the stuffing process, but barely noticeable and any small protrude of these materials could be trimmed without any damage to this near perfect quilt.  A few loose thread tails also protrude from the quilting process; the full on photo of this quilt was taken before it was to be shipped to this customer and the only close-up photo of the center medallion still had some of the blue markings slightly showing.  I will assure you that all these water-soluble marking pencil marks have now been removed as one can tell from the majority of the photos. (Due to the problems that I have with white on white photos I still included this photo in the listing).    As far as I can tell all quilting is beautiful and intact.   I have been familiar with quilts for most of my life and particularly I have a love of antique quilts, and when we started to produce these Trapunto quilts a some time ago, I decided to spare no expense in creating the most authentic custom reproductions available anywhere in the world today, and is designed to appear to be an authentic 19th century Trapunto quilt worth between 5-10 thousand dollars! Truly this is one of the most beautiful bridal quilts that I have ever produced.

This quilt is a stunning piece, and will be the highlight of any collection
